Brent Ayer coaches the Hood College men’s & women’s cross-country team in Frederick, MD. He has finished 17 marathons and three ultra-marathons, with bests of 2:36:38 and 6:19:10 for 50 miles.  His master’s 5K best of 17:15 is a touch faster than both Kevin’s dog and Roy’s.

As distance coach of the Frederick Striders Track & Field club since 2000, Ayer has guided young athletes to two national titles at the AAU Junior Olympics. He has coached six national qualifiers, 22 regional qualifiers, and eight state champions.  He helped coach the St. John’s at Prospect Hall High School girl’s cross country team to their first conference championship in 2002.

Ayer received his undergraduate degree from Lewis University, where he once held the Steeplechase record for 6 weeks.  He has an MBA from Frostburg State University and has worked as a congressional staffer for almost 25 years.  He holds Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) coaching certification and is a USA Track & Field Level II Endurance Coach.  He is the Eastern Director of RRCA and was its past national Secretary-Treasurer. Dr. Fieseler attended college and medical school at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She currently is the director of Sports Medicine in the Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, TX. She provides medical care for many local high school, college and recreational athletes. In addition, she is the chairperson of the Road Runners Club of America Sports Medicine Committee and is on the Board of Directors of the American Medical Athletic Association.
