J.D. Denton, the "Shoe Guy", writes the shoe reviews for Running Times as well as a monthly column on running shoes. A veteran of the running shoe industry since 1980, he has been writing about shoes since 1985. He owns Fleet Feet Sports, a running specialty store in Davis, CA, where he spends most of his time working with runners of all abilities to help them find the right shoes. J.D. has a communications degree from Wichita State University. He lives in Davis with his wife, who is also his business partner, and their teenage son.
